A friend's mum once said to me when I was in high school - "you have fat legs". Years later, I told this story to another friend who said "I never really thought about it before, but your legs are actually weirdly bigger than your upper body". I'm still self-conscious about revealing my bare legs to the world, and especially about wearing swimwear in public.
